Well April has been the month of sheepshead and wind for us here at Charlestonfishfinder. March is typically the windiest month of the year but this year it was really mild. April has been super windy but on the days in between blows we have been able to slip out to the reef and fish for sheepshead. They have been biting like crazy. Lots of 7+ pounders and plenty of smaller keepers. Few small sea bass and ringtails mixed in here and there. I have decided that sheepshead is one of the best tasting fish out there. We have released some monsters to catch another day but on the other hand a few have made it to the table.
Looks like the weather patterns are changing on the eve of the upcoming full moon which will be just in time. Fishing for redfish is gonna get hot over the next couple of weeks. Grouper season is just around the corner(may 1) and the mahi should be getting thick offshore in the next couple weeks. Book your trip soon to get in on some hot fishing.
